On the occasion and in conjunction with the opening of Classical Plays at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, that are celebrating the Centenary, will take place “Theatralia”, a great group exhibition that brings together 10 Italian artists + 1 who will interpret through their works the theatrical scene and the scenic dimension, in two of most beautiful places in the heart of Ortigia Island.

On the occasion and in conjunction with the opening of Classical Plays at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, that are celebrating the Centenary, will take place “Theatralia”, a great group exhibition that brings together 10 Italian artists [ Davide Bramante - Enzo Cucchi - Roberto Coda Zabetta - Marco Fantini - Giovanni Frangi - J&Peg - Alessandro Papetti - Luca Pignatelli - Piero Pizzi Cannella - Turi Rapisarda ] who will interpret through their works the theatrical scene and the scenic dimension, in two of most beautiful places in the heart of Ortigia Island. Each artist will exhibit two or more works of medium and medium-large size, to express - even with the size - the “theatrical” and “scenic” sense of the event. In addition to them, there is Felice Levini with his “Discorso di Pericle agli Ateniesi” (“Speech of Pericles to the Athenians”), an ode to democracy very clearly imprinted on a wall. The exhibition will be divided between the spaces of the ex Convent of St. Augustine and the ex Church of the Knights of Malta, respectively provided by the Sicilian Region and the City of Syracuse, and includes two opening ceremonies that will be held on 9 and 10 May, starting from 10.00 pm, afterwards the first performance at the Greek Theatre. On Friday 9 May will be opened the first part of the exhibition at the ex Convent of St. Augustine, and will remain open until 1st of July. On Saturday 10 May will be opened the second part of the exhibition at the ex Church of the Knights of Malta, and will run until 15th of August. The entrance to the vernissage will be by invitation. The exhibition is from an idea by Davide Bramante, it is organized in collaboration with the Cultural Association Fotosintesi Liquida, and it is entirely funded by the City of Syracuse.

Theatralia
In occasione e in concomitanza con l’apertura delle Rappresentazioni Classiche al Teatro Greco di Siracusa, che quest’anno celebrano il Centenario, due suggestivi luoghi nel cuore dell’isola di Ortigia ospiteranno “Theatralia”, una grande mostra collettiva che mette insieme 10 artisti italiani + 1 chiamati a interpretare attraverso le loro opere la scena teatrale e la dimensione scenografica.
Theatralia - da un’idea di Davide Bramante. A Siracusa, artisti italiani di calibro internazionale interpretano con le loro opere la scena teatrale.
In occasione e in concomitanza con l’apertura delle Rappresentazioni Classiche al Teatro Greco di Siracusa, che quest’anno celebrano il Centenario, due suggestivi luoghi nel cuore dell’isola di Ortigia ospiteranno “Theatralia”, una grande mostra collettiva che mette insieme 10 artisti italiani contemporanei [Davide Bramante - Enzo Cucchi – Roberto Coda Zabetta - Marco Fantini - Giovanni Frangi – J&Peg - Alessandro Papetti - Luca Pignatelli - Piero Pizzi Cannella - Turi Rapisarda] chiamati a interpretare attraverso le loro opere la scena teatrale e la dimensione scenografica. Di ciascun artista saranno esposte due o più opere di formato medio e medio-grande, per esprimere - anche con la dimensione - il senso “teatrale” e “scenografico” dell’iniziativa. A questi si aggiunge Felice Levini con il suo “Discorso di Pericle agli Ateniesi”, un inno alla democrazia impresso a chiare lettere su un muro. L’evento espositivo si dividerà tra gli spazi dell’Ex Convento di S. Agostino e l’Ex Chiesa dei Cavalieri di Malta, rispettivamente messi a disposizione dalla Regione Siciliana e dal Comune di Siracusa, e prevede due serate inaugurali che avranno luogo il 9 e il 10 maggio a partire dalle ore 22:00, al termine delle prime teatrali presso il Teatro Greco. Venerdì 9 maggio sarà inaugurata la prima parte della mostra presso l’ex Convento di S. Agostino, e resterà visitabile sino al 1° luglio. Sabato 10 maggio verrà aperta la seconda sezione della mostra presso l’ex Chiesa dei Cavalieri di Malta, e si protrarrà fino al 15 Agosto. L’ingresso ai vernissage sarà su invito, e libero sino alla capienza degli spazi espositivi. L’evento espositivo, nato da una idea di Davide Bramante e organizzato in collaborazione con la Associazione Culturale Fotosintesi Liquida, è interamente finanziato dal Comune di Siracusa.
