Fondazione Volume!, with the support of FRAME, the German Embassy and the Norwegian Embassy presents One Night Stand II , curated by Myriam Laplante, second edition of a performance project that hosted, in the first edition, the artists Claudie Gagnon (Canada) e Johan Lorbeer (Germania).
The exhibition space in via san Francesco di Sales will take on a poetic, contemplative and disarmingly ironic dimension in which the performers will interact with the viewers in that moment in space and time.
“(…) the artists will prepare durational performances, using the whole gallery in order to create a path through the space, to give the public the opportunity to circulate from one action to the other, to take the time to digest, come back, because the “sculptures” are alive and change according to the viewer’s eye, like quantum events. No video or photo can render the experience of a performance. There is always a vital umbilical cord that intimately links the viewer to the artist. With this project, I asked the artists to reveal not only the physical space of Volume! but also its pulse and it’s breath.” (Myriam Laplante) |

La Fondazione Volume!, con il patrocinio dell’Ambasciata di Germania, dell’Ambasciata di Norvegia, e di FRAME, presenta One Night Stand II a cura di Myriam Laplante, seconda tappa di un progetto performativo che nel precedente appuntamento ha ospitato gli artisti Claudie Gagnon (Canada) e Johan Lorbeer (Germania).
Anche questa seconda edizione, un'avventura amorosa vissuta nel breve arco di una notte, è destinata a consumarsi in un unico evento, con gli artisti Kurt Johannessen (Norvegia), Melati Suryodarmo (Indonesia-Germania), Roi Vaara (Finlandia) e Herma Auguste Wittstock (Germania).
Un’ironia spiazzante darà allo storico spazio espositivo di via san Francesco di Sales una dimensione poetica e riflessiva, in cui i performers attueranno un'insolita relazione con il pubblico, mediata dal rapporto tra il corpo dell’artista, lo spazio e il tempo.
“(…) gli artisti invitati preparano delle performance di lunga durata, che si protendono nel tempo, utilizzando tutta l’area disponibile in modo da offrire un “percorso” snodato negli spazi di Volume!. Il pubblico potrà “passeggiare” da un’azione all’altra, prendendosi il tempo di assimilare, di pensare, di rivedere, perché le “sculture” sono vive e cambiano secondo lo sguardo ed il momento, come eventi quantici. Non c’è foto o video che possa rendere pienamente quello che succede durante una performance. C’è sempre una specie di cordone ombelicale che collega intimamente lo spettatore all’artista. Per questa operazione, ho chiesto agli artisti di far sentire non solo lo spazio fisico di Volume!, ma anche il suo polso ed il suo respiro”. (Myriam Laplante) |
