Winding passages confuse and disorient the uncertainty of the goal, an ambiguous journey in the narrow streets of life to reflect on its temporality, randomness, and inevitable contiguity with death.
Gregor Schneider (Rheydt 1969), one of the most representative German artists of the contemporary scene, winner of the golden lion in the 49th Venezia Biennale, known for his skilled obsession to build and rebuild environments, creates specifically for the spaces of Fondazione Volume! an installed course to the Baroque exorcism of the death that supports adherence to the materiality of life.

Sculptural elements introduce the visitor to a labyrinthine path which affects time rather than space, a difficult and uncomfortable journey, a mental labyrinth of the inner search and the awareness of life and death.

In the metaphor of the maze we find the human attempt to control their own destiny, the need to triumph over time and the inevitable degeneration of the body, all very actual aspirations that science answers with processes that can slow but not stop time.

Tortuosi passaggi che confondono e disorientano nell'incertezza della meta, un ambiguo viaggio nelle strettoie della vita per riflettere sulla sua temporalità, accidentalità ed inevitabile contiguità con la morte.

Gregor Schneider (Rheydet 1969), artista tedesco tra i più rappresentativi del panorama contemporaneo, vincitore del leone d’oro nella 49ma Biennale di Venezia, noto per la sua abile ossessione nel costruire e ricostruire ambienti, crea appositamente per gli spazi della Fondazione Volume! un percorso installativo che alla barocca esorcizzazione della morte affianca l'aderenza alla materialità della vita.

Elementi scultorei introducono il visitatore lungo un labirintico sentiero che interessa il tempo più che lo spazio, un cammino faticoso e disagiato, un labirinto mentale volto alla ricerca interiore e alla consapevolezza della vita e della morte.

Nella metafora del dedalo si ritrova il tentativo umano di controllare il proprio destino, il bisogno di trionfare sul tempo e sugli inevitabili processi degenerativi del corpo, aspirazioni tutte attualissime alle quali la scienza risponde con procedimenti in grado di rallentare ma non di bloccare il tempo.
